Welcome to the 1st issue of The Alternative Travel Magazine, an online magazine featuring exciting and interesting travel stories, poems, photos and more. Our goal is to provide informative and entertaining articles and features to you. We are not trying to be an all-inclusive, all knowing travelogue type of magazine. There are plenty of those out there with far better resources than we have. |

Instead we're trying to entertain you and maybe provide you with some helpful hints, hey, if you learn something ,well, so much the better. We’re interested in hearing about your travels and we really want to know about what you want to see in our magazine. We also want to give writers, poets, and photographers a place to showcase their talents. We can’t pay anything, but maybe a little exposure can help lead to more lucrative offers. So tell us what you want to see and send in your stories, poems, photographs, witty insights, travel tips or anything else you can think of. As for the contents of our 1st issue, read on and I’ll try to introduce you to what we’ve got or feel free to just wander wherever your heart desires, it is a travel magazine after all. |

We're starting off with our first feature story on the great city of San Francisco. Our chief reporters have done extensive research for a brief, but informative look at one of the greatest cities in the world. |

This month we are featuring poems by four different poets. They all take on an interesting aspect of traveling, be it in a far-off land or dreaming of far-lands. |

This month we are featuring six short pieces by five different authors. The subjects and styles are varied and interesting so there should be something for just about anyone. From Nicaragua to Burma, and from South Dakota to the end of the world, so take a look at the excellent stories we've gathered for this issue. |

Important Note 7-9-06
Okay, Okay, I know it's not May anymore but, we have been hard at work trying to get the site looking as good as we can get it before we fire off with our second issue. We've made alot of changes and improvements and we've finally got something that we're happy with. Let us know what you think and don't worry we're getting ready for our second issue at the moment. So send your thoughts, ideas, stories, poems, etc. and we may be able to use them. Thanks for your patience, enjoy. |
